Website page measurement
This site uses small, first-party page measurement to understand which public pages are useful. When a page first becomes browser-reported visible, it records the page path without query strings or fragments, the external referrer hostname when one is available, the time the browser reports the page as visible, a random per-view visit UUID, and a random browser-tab session UUID. The tab-session UUID groups page views occurring within the same browser-tab session, so the underlying database can associate visits in one tab even though the admin interface never displays individual visits or histories. Neither random identifier is intended to identify a person or persist after the tab is closed.
Page measurement does not store raw IP addresses, user-agent strings, precise or coarse location, cookies, or fingerprints. Reports are aggregate only and describe measured browser activity; JavaScript-executing crawlers may be counted. The hosting provider's normal access logs may separately contain request and network information.
Raw page visits have a 90-day retention target by default. Expired records are excluded from reports immediately, while physical deletion is opportunistic and depends on endpoint traffic, so low-traffic periods can delay removal. Expired or cleared records may remain in database backups until those backups are rotated or deleted.
Global Privacy Control and the browser's legacy Do Not Track signal are honored. You can also store a first-party opt-out preference in this browser. This functional preference is only a boolean choice. Opting out stops future page-measurement requests from this browser. It does not remove aggregate data already recorded. Opting back in takes effect after a reload or new navigation, not in a document whose tracker has already shut down.
Music reel playback
Music reels record playback starts, pauses, seeks, finishes, listening position, the reel URL, and a random session identifier. A recipient label is recorded only when it is included in a shared link.
Public reel playback uses no cookies, fingerprinting, browser location permission, or third-party analytics. On the first playback in a session, the server sends the connection IP address over HTTPS to ipwho.is to estimate city, region, and country. Only those coarse location fields are stored; the application does not store the raw IP address or browser user-agent string. A one-way network identifier is used temporarily for abuse prevention, and normal hosting access logs may separately contain network request information.
Listening records are stored on the website host for up to two years by default. For access or deletion questions, email contact@danielwaltermusic.com.
The page-measurement choice above does not change music-reel playback measurement or its separately described coarse geolocation processing.
